Ontario Trilium Fund and the New LTS Building
In 2024, the Learn to Sail Program received a $150,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium fund.
This funding will allow Port Credit Yacht Club to replace its current outdoor tent in the Learn to Sail yard with a prefabricated seasonal portable building, creating a dedicated space for program coordination and equipment storage. This marks the first phase of a multi-year plan that will ultimately include upgraded washroom and changeroom facilities, and the renovation of the existing LTS building with a modern modular structure.
"This project is a game-changer for our Learn to Sail programs," said Tristan Bourelle, PCYC Learn to Sail Program Manager. "Thanks to the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s incredible support, we can better meet the needs of our youth and adult participants and strengthen our role in fostering the next generation of sailors."
The new facility will help Port Credit Yacht Club expand its programming capacity, enabling secure storage of boats and offering a welcoming environment for sailors of all ages to learn, grow, and connect through the sport of sailing.
